The Therapy Journey
You've been holding it together for a long time. Maybe so long that you've forgotten what it feels like to not be holding it together. You're functional — maybe even successful by most measures — but something underneath feels off. Disconnected. Tired in a way that sleep doesn't fix.
Or maybe something specific happened. Something you haven't fully let yourself look at yet.
Either way, you're here. And that already says something about you..
Who I work with
✓⃝ A high-achiever who looks fine from the outside but feels chronically overwhelmed, anxious, or empty on the inside
✓⃝ A person with ADHD who is smart and capable but keeps running into the same walls — and carrying a lot of shame about it
✓⃝ A creative who feels deeply but struggles to translate that into a life that feels stable, purposeful, or sustainable
✓⃝ Someone navigating a major life transition and not quite sure who you are on the other side of it
✓⃝ A person who wants to stop people-pleasing, shrinking, or performing — and start actually living as themselves
✓⃝ Someone living with chronic illness who is navigating not just the physical reality of their condition but the grief, identity shifts, and isolation that so often come with it
What to expect
The first sessionThe first session The first session is less about diving deep and more about getting oriented. I want to understand what brought you in, what you've tried before, and what you're hoping for. You'll also get a feel for whether I'm someone you can actually talk to — which matters more than anything else in therapy. There's no pressure to have it all figured out before we meet. You don't need to arrive with a neat summary of your trauma or a clear treatment goal. You just need to show up.
Building the workOnce we've established some trust and a sense of direction, the real work begins. That looks different for everyone. For some clients it's processing past experiences that are still living in the body. For others it's untangling long-held beliefs about who they are and what they deserve. For others it's practical — building skills, changing patterns, learning to regulate a nervous system that's been running hot for years.
I draw from a range of approaches — EMDR, DBT, mindfulness, person-centered and psychodynamic frameworks — and I let your needs guide which tools we reach for, not the other way around.
The paceI don't rush the process. Lasting change takes time, and I'd rather we do this right than fast. That said, I also don't believe in keeping clients in therapy longer than serves them. My goal is for you to eventually need me less — to have internalized enough of this work that you can carry it forward on your own.
Sessions are 50 minutes and typically weekly, especially at the start. We'll talk about cadence together as we go.
Ready when you are
Taking the first step is often the hardest part. If something on this page resonated, I'd love to hear from you.
